| Indira Gandhi Culture Centre, High Commission of India, Dhaka is organising “An Evening of Rock Music” by one of the most popular rock bands of Bangladesh—“Nagar Baul” led by Faruk Mahfuj Anam alias James at 6:30 PM on February 17, 2012 at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, H.No. 35, Road No. 24, Gulshan-1. James is one of the most noted Bangladeshi music composers and the lead guitarist and singer of the renowned Bangladeshi band, Nagar Baul, formerly known as 'Feelings'. James, born in Naogaon and raised in Chittagong, has pursued his musical career in Dhaka. Stylishly long-haired, James is the pioneer of psychedelic rock in Bangladesh and possesses musical diversity that includes various genres of rock and blues music. His songs deal with society, nature, love, rage, discontent, frustration and happiness. He is also affectionately called “Guru” by his innumerable fans. He commenced his musical career in Bollywood with Bheegi Bheegi inspired from "Prithibi" by Moheener Ghoraguli in the movie Gangster that topped the Hindi Top Music Chart of the TV Channel B4U continuously for four weeks. James and his musical band have extensively toured across the world including North America and Europe for performances. He has also released several musical albums—Tufan, Kaal Jomuna, Station Road, Jail Theke Bolchhi, Nogor Baul, Lais Fita Lais, Dushtu Chheler Dol, Anonna, Palabe Kothai, Dukkhini Dukkho Korona, Thik Achhe Bondhu, Ami Tomader E Lok, Jonota Express etc. James owns a production house called "Red Dot" which has risen to fame for its work relating to "D Rockstar 2". He has also composed music for several popular advertisements for Bangladeshi cell-phone companies.
