In the film, “Faith”, Mr. Khalid Mahmood Mithu contends that 14th of April, the first day of the Bangla year is a day of celebration. The whole of Bangladesh assumes a festive look on this day and celebrates. Amongst several types of celebrations marked for the Bangla New Year, “Charak Prayer” is one of the most notable ones though celebrated in small pockets of this country because of its difficult customs. In this festival, the priest is hooked twice at his back, hanged 22 feet high and is circled around. The exploration of this special kind of festival by Mr. Khalid Mahmood Mithu through his film, “Faith”, reveals some interesting and extraordinary facts. Mithu in his film, “Faith”, contends that religious beliefs cannot always be proved with scientific analysis -- only faith can bring peace in a believer’s life.
