First meeting of the sub-group on Tipaimukh Hydroelectric Project under the India-Bangladesh Joint Rivers Commission |

In pursuance to the decisions taken in the last Foreign Office Consultations between India and Bangladesh held in New Delhi on July 24, 2012, the first meeting of the sub-group on Tipaimukh Hydroelectric Project under the India-Bangladesh Joint Rivers Commission is scheduled to be held in New Delhi on August 27-28, 2012. The meeting will be attended by the relevant technical experts on both sides.
In his address to the Dhaka University during his visit to Bangladesh in September 2011, the Prime Minister of India had stated with reference to the Tipaimukh dam project that India will not take steps that will adversely affect Bangladesh.
