Bangladesh Minister of Local Government and Rural Development H.E. Mr. Syed Ashraful Islam is visiting India from September 18-22, 2012 at the invitation of his counterpart, Shri Jairam Ramesh, Minister for Rural Development and Drinking Water & Sanitation. During the recent visit of Minister Jairam Ramesh in August 2012, both India and Bangladesh agreed to cooperate in areas of rural development.
Besides his meeting with Shri Jairam Ramesh on September 19, 2012, Minister Syed Ashraful Islam is likely to call on Hon’ble President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee and meet with other Indian dignitaries. As he is also General Secretary of the Awami League, Hon’ble Minister is also expected to meet with the leaders of the Indian National Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party.
