January 26, 2010 - High Commission of India in Dhaka celebrates 61st Republic Day of India.
 
The 61st Republic Day of India on January 26, 2010 was celebrated with traditional pomp and gaiety in Bangladesh by the High Commission of India in Dhaka.

2. A function involving members of the Indian Community in Bangladesh, and the High Commission personnel, was held in morning at Baridhara. High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, H.E. Mr. Rajeet Mitter, unfurled the national flag and read out President of India’s Address to the Nation to the assembled guests. A Band of the Indian Air Force played national and patriotic songs on the occasion. The function was attended by over 500 members of the Indian community in Bangladesh.

3. Separately, to mark the occasion, High Commissioner of India is hosting a Reception in the evening at Radisson Hotel. It is expected to be attended by over 1000 guests, including senior Government dignitaries, officials, leading businessmen, prominent personalities from the fields of culture, media, and academia in Bangladesh. His Excellency Syed Ashraful Islam, Hon’ble Minister for Local Government and Rural Development of Bangladesh will attend the function as Chief Guest on behalf of the Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
